VR/AR Developers - Meet & Greet - Show Off Your Tech

This will be a chance to get to know some other developers who are building AR and VR applications in Chicago. We'll get to know each other and what everyone is working on, what technology we're using, what platforms we're targeting, and more.

This event has ended.

This is going to be the first meeting, so it'll just be a chance to get to know some other developers who are building AR and VR applications. We'll reserve half the time for networking so we can all get to know each other and what everyone is working on, what technology we're using, what platforms we're targeting, etc.

Tentative Agenda:
5:30-5:45 PM: Welcome and Introductions
5:45-6:00 PM: Use Cases for AR/VR Technology
6:00-6:30 PM: Show off What You've Built
6:30-7:00 PM: Get Help (Structured Networking)
7:00-7:30 PM: Open Networking

Demos:
If you have technology you want to show off, please contact me and let me know. As people get back to me, if there seems to be a lot of interest I'll adjust the tentative agenda and schedule time slots for people to present.

How Much:

There is no charge to participate at this time.

The Goal:
Meet and get to know the other people in the Chicago area that are working in this growing field. We don't care if you're just toying with the technology or if you've been working on it full time for the last decade. My team built our first prototype AR application last November, and we've built 5 more since, as well as a web based API that is helping us to rapidly develop new apps. This technology is growing, and whether you're just learning or have been working full time in it for the last decade, you have something to add to this group.

About the Organizer:
I've never coordinated a Meetup before, but I've been working in live events for decades. That said, I'm a developer, so most of my time is spent setting up environments, writing code, researching solutions on StackOverflow, or dealing with my clients. I know how valuable it can be to have another developer look at what I'm doing and provide their perspective, especially when I'm stuck. I want to create a group of developers that help and support other developers.
