Join Chicago Semester in an ongoing celebration of 45 years, serving college students through experiential education programming, as they present Homegrown: Stories from Food Start-Ups in Chicago. This event provides an opportunity to hear stories from entrepreneurs of color working to make an impact on their Chicago neighborhoods through food. Join as they explore how these entrepreneurs have shaped and reshaped their businesses, how the concept of place has impacted their purpose and work, and how they believe entrepreneurship can shape the future of their Chicago neighborhoods. Moderated by Jonathan Brooks, Chicago Semester Faculty and Senior Pastor of Canaan Community Church in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. The event will also feature lunch sized samples of top recipes from the food start-ups.
