1871 and the Center for American Entrepreneurship (CAE) will be hosting a roundtable with entrepreneurs on October 10th from 3 pm to 5 pm. A happy hour will follow until 6 pm.

CAE is a Washington, DC-based 501(c)(3) research, policy, and advocacy organization whose mission is to engage and educate policymakers in Washington, and at state and local levels across the nation, regarding the critical importance of entrepreneurs and startups to innovation, economic growth, and job creation – and to pursue a comprehensive policy agenda intended to significantly enhance the circumstances for new business formation, survival, and growth.

To ensure that they remained focused on the issues and challenges that matter most to American entrepreneurs, CAE staff conducts eight to ten roundtables with entrepreneurs in cities across the United States each year.  So far this year, they’ve met with entrepreneurs in Orlando, Seattle, and Memphis, and have plans for roundtables in South Bend, Ann Arbor, Atlanta, and Denver later in the year.

CAE’s team will be in Chicago on the afternoon of October 10th and would very much like to hear about the experiences, and get input from 1871 entrepreneurs.  The roundtable will be scheduled for ~90 minutes and the discussion will be quite informal and very collegial.  CAE is particularly interested in your input regarding the commercialization of research/innovation, access to capital, talent-related difficulties, regulatory challenges, and any other issues that have complicated or interfered with your ability to launch and successfully grow your business.

They will be sharing your insights regarding your work with policymakers on your behalf.
